2014 Leadership Institute participants met with Rep. Jared Polis (D-Colo.) to discuss LGBT politics and life as an openly gay member of Congress.

The Next Generation Leadership Institute launched in 2014, bringing a group of recently graduated LGBT high school students to Washington, D.C., to meet with successful LGBT leaders in a variety of fields; develop important leadership skills; and build a network of young LGBT peers for support and mentoring as they progress through college and careers.

In the 2015 Institute, participants will spend five days engaging in an intensive program of leadership training and networking, including the opportunity to ask direct questions of LGBT elected officials in Congress; learn about the opportunities for LGBT people in professional sports; meet trailblazing LGBT leaders in both business and activism; and work with their own peers to develop skills that will help them take on leadership roles themselves.

The 2015 Next Generation Leadership Institute will take place June 22 through 26. Participants will be selected from applications; travel and lodging for participants are provided by NGLF.

Sign up to be notified when application criteria and dates are announced.

Participants in the 2014 NGLF Leadership Camp talk about their experience, share what they learned, and give their advice for future Next Generation LGBT leaders.
